Happy Birthday Tvärvägen! Happy Birthday KNOPPAR!

September 28, 2009 · Hinterlasse einen Kommentar

Hallå, Hallå!

Today we recognized that we totally missed the 1st birthday of the first KNOPPAR-release! Nearly one year ago (24th of September 2008) the tiny, tiny label released “September” from TVÄRVÄGEN.

We don´t know if TVÄRVÄGEN keep that in mind when he released his new video “Pingvinvärmen”. Anyway, the result is really awesome beautiful and we are really happy about that! ;O)

As a special birthday-present KNOPPAR are really happy to announce that there are some really beautiful releases are coming up on KNOPPAR, soon. In October they will release the beautiful music from Andy Love, A Perfect Friend, Staphan O’Bell, the long-awaited 1st EP from Eric Fastén and (maybe) another secret surprise band! So be prepared! ;O)

Follow the KNOPPAR Twitter to be updated first and get some special goodies from while to while: http://twitter.com/KNOPPAR

Have a great day

It’s sad, but it seems that YAA!!! is dying. Hm…, I don´t know why. It was a great idea, but it seems that the idea is not working anymore. Maybe you can sent us some comments and let us know where the failure was/is.

Best

RECORD UNION – THE MUSICIAN´S DEMOCRACY

Juni 1, 2009 · Hinterlasse einen Kommentar

Finally it´s up:

Innovative New Music Service Record Union Sets Out to Use the Power of the Internet to Liberate Music

Stockholm based start-up Record Union is an example of how new innovative businesses are taking advantage of a changing music industry.

Record Union makes it possible for all musicians, signed or unsigned, to sell their tunes on major online music stores and services around the word. The service provides a way for musicians to sell their music in a global marketplace while still retaining all the ownership rights, and removes the importance of a record deal in obtaining worldwide distribution.

“Record Union aims to democratize the digital music industry by enabling all artists to have their music distributed and sold worldwide,” says Daniel Nilsson, CEO of Record Union.  “We are confident that our concept of fair music distribution will lead to a new future in how music is accessed online, and how the stars of tomorrow are discovered,” continued Nilsson.

By giving all artists the possibility to get their music out to millions of paying music consumers, Record Union also makes it possible for listeners to discover new and potentially great music which they did not have access to previously. The double role of providing all artists with global distribution and the possibility to earn a living from their music is the essence of the democratization Record Union wished to support within the music industry.

Record Union´s offer to artists is unique as they do not ask for any money upfront. Record Union only asks for the first $5 from each track or album generates once it begins to sell on their partners. Artists just need to upload their music on the Record Union website, and Record Union will publish their music on a comprehensive set of online retailers.

Record Union´s retail partners include online stores, streaming services, mobile services and media delivery services catering to a global consumer base. Currently Record Union has over 25 partners, with a combined total of over 140 online retail outlets. Among these services are: Spotify, iTunes, emusic, Amazon MP3, Rhapsody, Beatport and Napster. In total, Record Union covers approximately 95% of the global digital market.

The Sound Of Independent Sweden

März 19, 2009 · Hinterlasse einen Kommentar

Recently the UK label “stereo test kit” released a awesome compilation, which also contains beside a lot of great bands also some YAA!!!-bands (Björn Kleinhenz, Convoj).

Three years since STK’s previous compilation featuring the sounds of independent Sweden, we now present ‘Records Make Great Pets – Volume 2′. Twenty one tracks by twenty one of Sweden’s finest music-makers.

Made up of new recordings, pre-releases, and songs from the last few months’ crop of quality; if there’s a better collection of tracks that represent the strength and depth of the current songwriting scene, we’ve yet to hear it.

The twenty one bands featured are: Alarma Man, Audrey, Band in Box, Björn Kleinhenz, Convoj, Dag för Dag, Dear Euphoria, Foreign Slippers, Hajen, Lassus, Lowood, Norma, Park Hotell, Rickard Jäverling, Scraps of Tape, Testbild!, The Medalist, The Social Services, Two White Horses, we are soldiers we have guns, and Winter Took His Life.

Full details and track previews at: www.stereotestkit.com/pets.htm

März 17, 2009 · Hinterlasse einen Kommentar

We would really like to introduce “The Tramsession“. It’s the perfect combination of “a tran ride through Gothenburg” and finest “indie-pop”.

Bonnie and Clyde, Detektivbyrån or Quarterhorse already played in the tram.

See here Anders from Quarterhorse:

Beside that we would really like to introduce you 2 really great bands we’ve heard by accident in the big, big internet.

Ironville on itsatrap.com

The scandinavian music journal “It’s a trap” wrote some really nice words about the beautiful IRONVILLE from Stockholm:

Roses

Ladies and gentlemen, I hereby decree that Ironville’s forthcoming album “Welcome to Ironville” to be 2009’s second exceptional release, the first being Livaventura’s “…And they slept with their eyes open” (see here). Keep in mind that order here is unimportant as that Livaventura record won’t be out until April and Ironville’s debut has no official release date yet (spring?), but I’ve heard them both and am confident in my appraisal. Hopefully you already saw the video for “Roses” as created by band member Henrik Öhberg (aka Tvärvägen) — if not, please remedy that straightaway. And download the song, of course! The lyrics are full of neediness, but the delivery keeps the desperation at bay by being quirky, not cloying. It’s a discussion, not an ultimatum, at least not yet. And the string-heavy arrangement is a welcome respite from all the generic guitar-based crap I sift through on a daily basis. Actually, that’s one of Ironville’s finest qualities — it’s not just a matter of having an armada of instruments at your disposal (which they do), it’s about using them judiciously. I can’t say for sure that it’s the band’s own doing or the invisible hand of producer Markus Krunegård(Laakso), but I don’t really care because the result sounds so fantastic. Keep an eye on these guys for sure.

YEAH, YEAH, YAA!!!

Hari and Aino and Ironville

Januar 29, 2009 · Hinterlasse einen Kommentar

Hej, awesome people!

Here some news from the YAA!!!-basement:

We are starting with some news from the most busy YAA!!!-band Hari and Aino:

Their unfortunately delayed single A Considerate Kind of Home will now be released on Cloudberry Records on the 15th of February.  Even though the vinyl single was supposed to be released before christmas problems with the pressing plant has led to a delay.

Even still, the song has had thousands of listeners all over the world! And that makes them very happy, and goes to show how wonderful the internet is for spreading music. They love that.

So as a little gift to you they are releasing the B-side “Maple” for free download, to go with the already released mp3-version of “A Considerate kind of Home”. So have a listen, and if you like it. Support Cloudberry Records and get a copy of the single. You know you want this kind of label to survive. Support independent music and music lovers like Cloudberry and, of course, YAA!!!.
